Welcome to Parracombe

Parracombe is a rural village community on the Western side of Exmoor National Park at the top end of the Heddon Valley, in Devon, England. There are around 300 residents.

Parracombe has a shop – Pavilion Stores & Café, a pub – The Fox and Goose, a village hall, a primary school and two churches – Christchurch and St Petrock’s.

The area is steeped in history, with neolithic barrows on the higher moor above the village, a motte and bailey castle in the village and the 11th C church of St Petrock.

Much of the land is farmed, but a large portion of the beautiful Heddon Valley is owned and managed by The National Trust. There is an extensive network of public footpaths and bridleways in the area and the village itself can be explored with the Parracombe 100 objects Village Walk and Map.
